I have the same problem as other users. I have a iMac purchased 9/18/2017 with the latest version of the operating system. I wanted to figure out the finder. Mine does not look anything like the one he illustrates with in his example and he does not show me how to get a view showing the Hard Drive. I finally worked it out but a beginner would never make it. I bought my first mac when they came out in the 80's and have used Mac's and PC ever since. My wife who we bought the computer for could never understand this book despite her Master's degree.
Decent, but not great, book for IMac. We are new users for the Apple unit and had hoped for more step by step instructions, but were disappointed. Will keep book fir reference in the future.
The book may be OK but is physically difficult to read. I bought the paper version to be able to highlight things of importance to me and make handwritten notes but did favor the kindle version. After receiving the book I FOUND OUT THAT THE TYPE SIZE WAS SO SMALL (ABOUT 7 POINT IN SIZE) THAT I NEED A MAGNIFYING GLASS TO READ THE BOOK. I asked Amazon (talked to 3 supervisors) for a kindle download ($15.99) so I could read at easy (kindle can vary the type face and font size) at no charge. All they offered (inconvenient) was an exchange that would cost Amazon more than a free kindle download (to supplement) my purchase. While citing policies they refused to make an exception.I do like Amazon but intend to buy paper products from B&N after seeing the book physically at the store. Amazon does NOT disclose the font size on their description of the book. The Kindle version does not do justice to graphics and their is no option (for a couple of dollars more) to get both. It makes no sense to buy both versions (of the same thing) at full price.I would not say Amazon misrepresents all their paper books but do say they do not fully disclose all of the information a buyer needs unless you are 20 years old and do not need glasses. EVEN READING THE SAMPLE CHAPTERS (NOT PRESENTED IN SMALL TYPE) WILL NOT DISCLOSE THIS INFORMATION. THIS IS AN AMAZON ISSUE AND A PUBLISHER ISSUE. AMAZON NEEDS TO REVIEW THEIR POLICIES.i am sorry I had to be so negative but fault is WITH AMAZON AND THE CHOICES MADE BY THE PUBLISHER.
This book was written in easy to read format. Very informative and well done. The author was well versed in macOS Sierra and he used enjoyable humor with the text.
This book has answered all my questions to this point. Considering I'm using my first Mac, I think the book fares pretty well.
Good book covering the essentials of the Mac OS Sierra Operating System. Not as comprehensive as the Missing Manual on the same topic, but a much better place to start if you want an overview of the major features.
This book is a joke. I need a book that tells me how to do an action, not tell me that the action exists. And then refer me to someone else for an answer. A total waste of money.
Not very smart with computers, but this book helped me so much. Makes using my computer more easier.
